Valerie Ortiz
Hello, my name is Valerie Ortiz, and I am currently a graduate student in the Mental Health Counseling program at New York University. My experiences in working with others have deepened my passion for helping others feel understood and supported through life’s challenges.
In therapy, I aim to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and free of judgement where clients can show up authentically. I believe that everyone’s experiences and needs are different, so I value meeting clients where they are and working together in a way that feels most helpful to them. My goal in therapy is to support your healing and growth as you move toward the life you want.
I take an integrative approach to counseling and adapt my approach based on each client’s individual needs and goals. I am especially drawn to approaches like DBT and parts work that focus on understanding our emotions, our behaviors and different aspects of ourselves with compassion and curiosity. I see therapy as a space to gain self-awareness, healing, growth and support while navigating various aspects of life.
