Therapy is a collaborative relationship between a counselor and client in a safe, confidential space.
It is a place to talk about your life and anything that feels confusing, painful, or overwhelming. Your counselor is trained to listen carefully and support you in working through the areas of your life that matter most to you.
Therapy can bring up difficult emotions such as sadness, anxiety, anger, frustration, loneliness, or helplessness, as it often involves exploring uncomfortable or painful experiences.
At the same time, therapy has been shown to support meaningful benefits, including reduced emotional distress, improved relationships, greater self-awareness, and stronger coping skills for managing life’s challenges.
The first 2–4 sessions involve a comprehensive understanding of your needs and concerns.
Together, we begin to clarify what brings you to therapy and discuss an initial direction for treatment. This includes identifying goals and outlining a plan that supports your care.
You are encouraged to ask questions and reflect on whether the process feels like the right fit for you. If needed, we can also help guide you toward another provider.
